BYE BYE STEADYLIGHT

I’m back in New York, with my brand new artist visa, about to be working three different jobs to pay rent while I regroup and try to figure out my shit. Like. What is one to do with one’s life anyway?
That’s why, when I found it in the bookstore when I was back home, I bought Nina Åkestam’s book “Meningen med hela skiten” (terribly translated to something like “the fucking point of it all”) I loved it. I’d say it’s an excellent book about career choices and personal choices for a generation that no longer can rely on an education to get you a job. The generation that was told we can be anything we want, but then someone forgot to tell us we can’t be everything we want. Nina talks about the “good girl” problem (which I think applies to plenty of the boys out there too) and lots of other things. It’s easily read, despite a fairly heavy topic. Every now and then there are exercises for you to do, one of them is “the 85-year-old”. It’s basically just asking yourself what you wanna tell people about the life you’ve lived when you’re 85 years old. And that’s pretty much when I decided that blogging wasn’t one of those things.

So after 5 years or so I say goodbye to steadylight, the tiny little corner of the internet that was mine and I wanna thank all of you lovely readers for checking in on me (hi mom). If you wanna stay in touch, I recently got a Facebook page – see you on the flippetiflop!
